Crayons
I went a little nuts with one of my creative writing assignments…oops. Inspired by Ryan Sohmer's new book, The Bear.

Happy/Merry/Joyous Whatever!

*Looks back at Sketchvember posts*…well, I tried. It got me drawing again, so it wasn't a complete lost cause. :)
I've put out a coloring e-card almost every year since 8th grade. Last year, my first college exams overwhelmed me and thus the annual e-card wasn't made nor sent out. Today I sat down and banged out this year's illustration (you saw it above). For the enjoyment of whoever stumbles across this post, though, here's a couple more from years gone by. Enjoy and feel free to color them if you want to. :)

At some point, I'll probably post up some of the doodles I've been doing. Apparently, it's the whole point of this blog. Huh.

Puddin' and Pumpkin Pie

It's okay, Mistah J: I've got a few more pictures for ya this time!I've (evidently) been on
another Joker and Harley kick, but at least it came out as part of a Sketchvember posting! Their relationship is so fascinating…
It's funny, I stumble upon other fandoms through people and creative works rather than the original source material. I suppose I can thank and curse the fan comic Girls Next Door for bringing up Harley Quinn in a past Halloween strip and causing my eventual google search and love for the pairing.

I like how the full-body of the Joker turned out — I was going to do both in the other's clothes but Harley kept squirming around and wasn't cooperating at all. Or maybe she ended up in the background because Joker threw her there. The world will never know!

Oh, Batsy!

I have a huge soft spot for the Mark Hamill Joker — the voice is absolute perfection in my opinion. It's what I hear when I read the Joker's dialogue. That said, today's (and tomorrow's more extensive) sketch covers the Joker. Like the wanted poster artists in Rapunzel, I just couldn't get his nose right; until today. On the left is the practice sketch/copy of a screenshot of the Joker from Batman: The Animated Series. After that, I could do the colored face just fine.
Next up tomorrow: more of the Clown Prince of Crime…with his Princess, too!

Sketchcomic!

True story — costume and all. …okay, so the lioness isn't that tall. Also, this has three sketches inside of it — I am officially caught up! :)

Colorific!
I was going to do a still life speed paint for today's sketch, but my scratch disk needs clearing and my computer only has one USB port — I can't reset the disk to my absolutely huge external drive AND use my Bamboo Fun. That being said, I got some coloring work done before my drive got all gunked up.
When I first started my long sort through photoshop painting tutorials way back in the 9th grade, I noticed a trend — every artist I saw said to avoid the smudge and blur tools like the plague. While I was coloring Jareth's hand today, I decided to play a bit with it. Below is the difference.

Can you tell which is which?
